SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Southern Columbia’s offensive weapons overpowered South Williamsport in its 54-20 dominating win on Friday night.
Running back Gaige Garcia was a workhorse for the Tigers, carrying the ball 14 times for 128 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground. Garcia also added a 17-yard receiving touchdowns with 13 seconds left to go in the first quarter.
“You know I really don’t care how I score just as long as I am I able to help the team,” Garcia said.
“Recieving or rushing its just a good feeling to get in the end zone and help the team out,” Garcia said.
Despite his and the team’s mutual success, Garcia is not ready to stop working.
“It was a good win overall but theres still things we can fix,” Garcia said.
However, he wasn’t the only Garcia to have an impact on the offense.
Gaige Garcia’s younger brother Gavin finished with 10 carries for 88 yards and two touchdowns to bring the Garcia family touchdown total to seven scores in the win over the Mounties.

Star wide receiver, Julian Fleming, produced again for Southern Columbia. He gathered six catches for 137 yards and score all in the first half.
Instead of implementing a creative coverage scheme against Fleming, the Mounties’ defense elected to go with single coverage time and again.
“Dont ask me why, but they did,” Fleming said.
Fleming burnt the South Williamsport defense on catches of 30 and 58 yards to start the game.
Fleming’s leaping touchdown resembled his youth football days where he caught passes from Preston Zachman.
“Preston and I had a thing since junior high since before he came here and it was always when in doubt throw it up,” Fleming said. “So he just threw it up there, gave me a shot and I came down with it.”
Zachman finished 7 for 9 with 154 yards passing and the score to Fleming while replacing injured quarterback Stone Hollenbach.
“I thought our recievers were getting a lot of separation they were making it easy for me,” Zachman said. “All I had to was just throw it, they were wide open.”
Southern trailed again to start the game for the second consecutive week when Chris Klem scored on a 70-yard screen pass from AJ Flick. But it was all Southern after that, as the
Tigers scored 54 unanswered points.
